This is one of the big guys. Also called a Quadruple in some circles, this is a big high gravity beer with a massive complex of flavours and aromas. In a way this can feel like a bigger version of a Dubbel, but with a lot more going on.

Deep brown with some coppery glints, clear, and with a big tan head like mousse. The aroma is a big bouquet of rich deep toasty bready malt, with dark caramel, some vanilla of clove phenols and a little bit of alcohol. Hops are not noticeable, but the big ester presence more than takes their place in the form of prunes, figs, dates, dried cherries, plums, and raisins. The body spans both ends of the medium range, but the carbonation is pretty high, and alcohol is noticeable. The flavour here is rich and malty, a continuation of the aroma, and all the flavours are harmonious. Bitterness is medium and assists the alcohol in balancing the malt. The finish is moderately dry
